Product and Supply Manager – Global Helium

Global Helium supply chain includes the following:

  • Managing entire supply chain inwards from supply points – USA, Qatar, Algeria, Russia to and from the USA, points in Asia, Australia including in and out of Europe. Including logistics, tanks at the same time as minimizing losses
  • Managing allocation and distribution of molecules to US transfills
  • Managing export supply chain to affiliates – Canada, Brazil, PR, Colombia, Europe
  • Managing supply of product to 3rd party wholesale customers across the world
  • Managing inventories and control over Messer LLC entire helium supply network
  • Ensuring Messer meets it source obligations and do not get any take or pay penalties from suppliers.
  • Collaborating with Messer Group on swaps, sales and logistics support
  • Handling unique third-party wholesale transactions
  • Optimization of USA network – from transfill location, distribution cost optimization, network rework
  • New source commercialization – including Qatar, Amur, Irkutsk, etc.  


  • Generate, own and disseminate sourcing and production reports
  • Support Finance team for accurate and prompt financial reporting of global helium
  • Provide guidance to Global Helium’s leadership team through the generation, development and analysis of specific reports (customer, regional vol. vs. demand, profitability, sourcing, etc.)
  • Consolidate supply vs. demand data, review data, and support delivery planning and supply execution.
  • Manage allocation to customers and supply chain to customers- internal, affiliates and external


  • Lead annual budget and mid-term planning activities for global helium, including consolidation, analysis, dissemination and validation of Opex, Capex, Sourcing, P&L and B/S planning.
  • Global Helium inventory review/management 

Commercial / Contract Management

  • Administer all price adjustment, notifications, pricing and volume forecasts, invoicing, reconciliations and any other contract management transactional responsibility pertaining to the wholesale, sourcing, affiliate and competitor swap agreements of Global Helium (to include MTG, AP Apollo, sourcing cocktail mix calculations for multiple contractual price adjustment activities globally, etc)
  • Use contract and customer intimacy to guide sales teams in customer profitability improvement activity such as renegotiation of terms, opportunistic operative improvements deals, etc. as well as best use of limited resources.  Examples might include use of different pricing adjustment formulas, offering alternative products (mode, timing of delivery, source, etc) to customers based on understanding of their purchase patterns and needs, etc.
  • Manage supply chain on various TSA’s, PSA’s agreements, multiple Back to Back agreements between Messer and Linde
  • Lead dispute resolution and financial consideration for customer complains resulting from Global Helium’s potential performance gaps against its obligations (ie. credits resulting from container malfunction, diversion of containers, inability to supply, etc). 
  • Ensure systems (SAP, BW, etc) consistency
  • Own, manage and disseminate as required contract database and ensure all contracts are available electronically and all key terms, dates are understood and managed successfully by the team.

Product Management

  • Regional and global sourcing and demand consolidation, review, and report generation
  • Generate PO’s, review, approve, and process for payment sourcing invoices
  • Reconcile and review global transportation costs to ensure proper cost allocation to customers
  • Continuous process review of administrative/transactional processes to ensure most efficient approach to current business model.
  • Lead established weekly execution reviews with Supply team ensuring alignment of supply , repositioning of assets and overall management of container fleet to minimize sourcing risks (ToPs), proper maintenance and reduced transport costs
  • Develop, communicate and execute allocation protocol as per strategy
  • Support standardization of business and systems processes across the business  



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Industrial Engineering (technical degree a plus) or 10 years equivalent experience required.
  • MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in prior product management,  financial experience along with successful prior customer interfacing, and global supply management required
  • Proficiency in MS office, particularly Excel, SAP, Access, Teams, SQL, etc
  • Understanding key drivers of global Helium profitability and cost
  • Solid understanding of global logistics and supply chain
  • Management of staff
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of Helium business processes
  • Understanding of SAP PTO, OTC processes
  • Precise, accurate, detail focused and well organized
  • Excellent numerical skills
