Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting package to parent company in Germany
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting.
  • Assist in preparation of stand-alone financial statements
    • Provide detailed analysis and ensure periodic reconciliations are performed for various balance sheet accounts
    • Analyze and record monthly journal entries
    •   accounting for IFRS 16 leases, IFRS 9 estimated credit losses, asset retirement obligations, environmental reserve reporting and other complex account as needed.
    • Act as liaison to independent external auditors for interim and year-end audit procedures
    • Assist in process documentation and identification and documentation of controls
    • Assist in monitoring compliance with internal control
    • Assist in the preparation and review of key audit and reporting schedules
    • Create accounting reports using the financial reporting tools
    • Perform special projects on ad-hoc basis
    • ARP / Environmental accounting 
    • Ad-hoc projects as required
    • Monthly BS reconciliations as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and CPA License required
  • Minimum 4– 7 years of experience including big 4/National accounting firm background and external financial reporting under IFRS and US GAAP
  • Comfort with interpreting and applying accounting principles is required, with a working knowledge of IFRS preferred.
  • Experience of medium to large enterprise financial consolidation systems and an interest/ability to build-out reporting tools & applications
  • Excellent level of software proficiency in using PC software to support activities, especially Microsoft Office products and accounting systems such as SAP (preferred) or Oracle
    • Stakeholder management focused and develop strong working relationships with delivering superior end-products
    • Superior interpersonal skills; able to communicate and engage personnel at all levels of the organization
    • Ability to recognize risks to the expected quality or timeliness of deliverables and ability to reprioritize and successfully manage through risks
    • Data driven, analytical approach to problem solving leading to systemic improvements and lasting results
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a challenging, fast paced environment
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Willingness and ability to roll up your sleeves get into the details
    • Ability to synthesize complex concepts/strategies into clear story for both internal and external constituents
    • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
    • Experience analyzing financial information and data
