    Responsibilities

    What you will enjoy doing:

    As one of our Area Electrical and Instrumentation Engineers, you will provide electrical and instrumentation technical expertise for increasing plant reliability. You will recommend and implement technical solutions for extending equipment life, troubleshoot and problem solve instrument and electrical issues, develop preventative maintenance plans, and provide technical input for relife and new capital projects for the Central Region Supply plants and facilities. You will:

    • Provide technical, troubleshooting and maintenance support to all ASU, CO2, ECOVAR, H2, He and HyCO plants within the region for all electrical equipment and instrumentation, including low / medium / high voltage substations, switchgear, transformers, motors, distribution systems and associated protection and support equipment
    • Proactively review and ensure up to date electrical equipment and instrument condition based data and equipment reports to ensure reliable operation
    • Ensure that agreed electrical equipment and instrumentation maintenance strategies are fully implemented at all sites
    • Lead the rectification of failed electrical equipment and instrumentation, including EMOC, plant/equipment outage decision making and root cause analysis
    • Assess the technical competency of electrical and instrumentation contractors and service providers to ensure proper scope is assigned and the expected quality is received
    • Provides electrical equipment and instrumentation scope, estimation and execution support to the Projects Group for large improvement and relife projects within the reqion.
    • Lead and execute electrical equipment and instrumentation programs and projects within each area in support of high performance supply chain operations and continuous improvement within the region
    • Represent the region's electrical equipment and instrumentation reliability interests in the proposal and project commercialization process, including scope and spares input and new plant acceptance 
    • Ability to travel an average of 30-40%

     

    Qualifications

    Required Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering

     

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum of ten years’ experience in electrical and instrumentation
    • Minimum of five years’ experience in operational and engineering environment.

    • Strong communication skills at all levels
    • Attention to detail
    • Demonstrated ability to follow through to completion on projects and solutions.
    • Demonstrated ability to work cohesively in a team environment or independently as required.  
    • Knowledgeable in plant operations. Can effectively identify and evaluate technical and business process opportunities and translate to financial terms to support investment and business case development
    • Self starter with the ability to manage multiple activities and achieve results with minimal supervision
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
